Good Yarn - Girl of Cardigan

An important lesson was learned at this photo shoot: always bring a mirror.

Because when you’re a crazy knitter person who makes super chunky cowls and is then a little OCD about how they’re twisted, you’re gonna want to make sure you don’t twist it funny for the photo like, well, this:

But oh well.  At least the pictures are still lovely.  Thank goodness for Shannon Hannon.  For those of you who like to know all the things, the button on my jacket says “Books are my bacon.”

Pattern: No pattern.  Basic instructions are as follows: With size 15 or so giant circular needle and some equally fabulously bulky yarn, cast on 100 stitches.  Knit in 1×1 rib for five rows, garter until you feel like stopping, then end with five more rows of ribbing and bind off.  Tada!  Cushy cushy goodness in about an hour.  Lovely.

Yarn: Brown Sheep Burly Spun in Fuchsia.  Also known as “Oh my goodness, that’s pink” pink.

Thoughts:  It’s soooooo squishy, and when it’s folded correctly, I love it.  Quick and warm and cozy.  Who can complain?  Not that I’ll be wearing it a whole lot in the next few months.  I’m sweating just thinking about it.

love.

I am DYING for you to get your first knitting today issue! I can’t wait to see what kind of treats you pull from those pages!
These pictures make me long for fall, the very opposite of everything San Diego stands for I know, but alas I still love the fall.
