Stuff We Like - Girl of Cardigan

I got to know Lisa when she was nine months pregnant with her first daughter, in the heat of Portland summer, as she walked me through the steps and routines and ins and outs of the job she was leaving, the job I had always wanted, the job I would take and love until, nine months pregnant with my first daughter, in the heat of Portland fall, I would walk through the steps and routines and ins and outs of the job I was leaving, to begin another job I had always wanted.

How’s that for a sentence, eh?

Lisa is a ball of light, all sarcasm and confident caricature and so much creativity she can’t help but spew it all over everything she touches.  She’s great.  You’d love her.  But this post is less about how much you would love Lisa, and more about how much you will love the stuff she makes for her Etsy shop, My Little Buffalo!

My Little Buffalo Family Portrait Giveaway - Girl of Cardigan

Gah!  Do you seeeeeeee this adorable portrait magic?  It’s us.  Obviously.  I’m going to frame it and keep it and love it and smile every single time I see it basically forever – our little family, frozen in this exact moment in time.  Not to mention the fact that Lisa, who wore both her lovely girls, took the time to draw my favorite Pavo Form wrap (Gotham Steel, geeks), which sort of makes this a babywearing keepsake, methinks.

All you wrap collectors – you NEED this.  Do it.

Do you have a favorite wrap, or outfit, or hat, or, I dunno, family member that Lisa could capture for you?  I hope so, because today, she’s offering you the chance to win your own high resolution, hand-drawn portrait, FOR FREEEZEES, for keeps.  She’ll draw up to six members of your fam (don’t worry, big families, you can add on more for a small fee) wearing the outfits AND baby carriers of your choosing.  She’ll even draw your dog.  No, seriously.  Look at this dog:

  • Tovah February 26, 2014 at 7:25 am

Obviously I’d have to wear the cutest thing in my closet. I’m not sure what that is though…but I’m pretty sure everything will be on the bed, the floor and such by the time I figure it out:)

    • karyn February 26, 2014 at 7:26 am

      Story of my life. 🙂

  • Faith@The Stirring Place February 26, 2014 at 8:04 am

I’d put my 3 month old boy in a bow tie (not exactly the question but follow me), my husband in my favorite chambray shirt (of his, not mine…that would be weird) and myself…well in anything non-maternity now that the squishy post-baby body is slowly starting to melt. slowly. So yea, I probably don’t own this dress yet. In summary, I have no idea what I’d wear. 😉

  • Staci L. February 26, 2014 at 8:07 am

I would wear my rainbow baby in her rainbow wrap 🙂

  • Abby February 26, 2014 at 10:51 am

These are so cute! I have no idea what we’d wear! It took me weeks to decide when we got family photos done a couple months ago. 🙂

    • karyn February 26, 2014 at 12:41 pm

My problem is I am lazy and we wind up wearing the same go-to outfits for everything photographed, and then people think we wear the same thing every day always. Which is sort of true, actually. Nevermind. 🙂

  • Meredith Smith February 26, 2014 at 11:25 am

    Such a lovely giveaway!

  • Amanda K. February 26, 2014 at 11:36 am
