Mom Jeans is a collection of thoughts on personal style from mothers of young children all around the world. Some are fashionistas, some would call themselves the furthest thing from fashionable – all of them are wildly beautiful, and all of them inspire me. Enjoy!
Eclectic casual. May seem like an oxymoron, but really, I like to choose one or two pieces each day that really stand out/have some sort of visual interest and then pair them with your everyday neutrals. It helps me stay comfy while chasing a crazy 1 year old, while at the same time, maintaining my own personal sense of style, and helping me feel put together.
After becoming a mother, my biggest style challenge was maintaining a style at all. I went from working full time in the fashion industry, to staying at home with no agenda other than taking care of my family-, which is a huge job! So, I guess I could say my requirements for the pieces I purchase have changed. I no longer buy anything fussy- it has to be beautiful/functional/comfortable as is. A lot of times I would advise my clients to belt this, or tuck in that, but now in my own life, its hard to find time for such luxuries- you’ve got a baby to love on! But, I am finding more and more that just because you are a mom, you don’t have to give up who you are, especially when it comes to your sense of style. Its an evolution.
Good jeans ( I like Old Navy “Rockstar” jeans, or Anthropologie’s “Pilcro” brand.)
Note from the obsessive babywearing editor: That sling that Mary-Anne is wearing is from Sakura Bloom, and it’s GORGEOUS. That is all.
