Good Yarn - Girl of Cardigan

Mukluks - Girl of Cardigan

Pattern: Mukluks by Tin Can Knits

Yarn: Some leftover Cascade Eco+ and Lion Brand Wool from the 70s

Thoughts: I adore these for babes- they stay on better than most things, they are cozy as all-get-out, and comfy.  The great thing about the pattern is the size range – from baby on up to my dad.  I’m working on some grown-up versions as we speak.  Quick, satisfying, giftable knit.  Christmas is coming…

I am so envious of your knitting skills! I am making a baby afghan with just the chevron pattern and thank goodness it is only knit and purl! I would love to attemp the mukluks, could you e-mail me the pattern? My e-mail is jcpdx@mac.com…if you think it is too complicated for a beginner then just let me know! I do think I want to take knitting lessons though. I have a new Granddaughter arriving on February 28, 2014! Thanks, Karyn!

Ha, thanks Janice! Years and years of practicing is all. These would definitely be a challenging pattern for you (you’d have to do some kitchener stitch, picking up stitches, and some colorwork), but I think you could totally do it with a little help from YouTube. 🙂 I try to be a stickler about obeying specified copyright rules on patterns, and this one asks that it not be shared as it is available for purchase online for $4, so though I’d LOVE to send it to you, I will honor her wishes and instead send you the link to her website and the $4 download – it comes with all sizes for everyone, so it’s a pretty good deal! Let me know if you make them and if you need any help – I have lots of useful videos and tutorials to share. Here’s the link for the pattern, without going through Ravelry: http://tincanknits.com/pattern-PK-mukluks.html Love to you!

You are a gifted gal. The recipients of your hand knit gifts are lucky indeed!

I have help to give, but sadly so far fail at creating extra time. But my time is your time if you need a hand!
