Happy Monday, friends! I hope yours involves fewer rain clouds than ours does so far.
Today I want to connect you with someone amazing. My friend Anne, who I haven’t seen in years and years and miss terribly, lives and works as a missionary, wife, and mom to two adorable kiddos in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Anne is from Australia originally, married to an American, and now in Thailand… a history just complicated and diverse enough to make her one of the funniest, most endearing humans I know. Here’s a snippet from her bio to illustrate the point:
I have homes on Three Continents, which takes choosing where to spend the Holidays to a new level! It also means that I suffer occasional identity crises, as I don’t quite fit in anywhere.
In America, I’m the Aussie who always seems to say just the wrong thing… even when I’m trying to be ‘good’.
In Australia, I’m barely recognizable as an Aussie, with my American drawl, and my worldview slightly skewed by living abroad too long.
In Thailand, I’m just the side show. So are my kids. People have the right to pinch me, poke me, ask me strange questions, call me rude names, and laugh at me when I hurt myself. Ironically, this is where I feel most at home.
I speak Three languages: Australian, American and Thai. I could go into a discourse about that statement, but I think I’ll just wait till someone asks.
I have two kids and one husband. I adore all of them A smile, an “I love you” or a hug from any one of them makes me melt.
I’m a follower & worshiper of Jesus. A Missionary. A Wife. A Mum.
I started this blog to keep in touch with family and friends, and it quickly turned into a form of therapy to keep me sane as I rode the roller coaster of Infertility. Now it is a Chronicle of my life as a Mum trying to bring her 3 worlds together in order to bring cohesion and stability in the midst of endless challenge and adventure.
She’s brilliant, wise, and entertaining, her kids do the darndest things, and she needs our love and support – it’s a crazy life, the life of a missionary. You can follow her blog here:
